My job.
I started working at The Oregon Consortium & Oregon Workforce Alliance on May 1, 2009. I am hoping to document the process as I learn about rural workforce development in Oregon. My official title is WIA Program Specialist. As part of my job, I will get to drive all over Oregon visiting WIA service providers onsite to “research and evaluate information on service delivery strategies and policies.” The quote is directly from my job description. Fundamentally, I get to ask a lot of questions, do some research and then present my findings (i.e., give my informed opinion). Sounds reasonably ideal, eh?
I start visiting One-Stop Career Centers in 24 of Oregon’s rural counties and asking questions next week.
